一、Analysis of the current situation of Chinese pepper production and export trade
(1) Planting scale
At present, the world's pepper cultivation is mainly concentrated in Asia and Europe, and its planting area accounts for 52.90% of the world's citrus planting area. In the new stage of development, China, as one of the major pepper growers, has made remarkable progress in pepper planting technology, breeding improvement and agricultural management in recent years through continuous exploration and innovation. It is an important part of the revitalization of China's rural industry.
In 2016, the total cultivation area of China's pepper is about 12.606,500 mu, and by 2022, the cultivation area of China's pepper will exceed 12.606,500 mu, accounting for about 29.68% of the global pepper cultivation area. Due to the mild and humid climate of Chinese pepper, according to the production characteristics and climate characteristics of the main pepper producing areas in China, the pepper cultivation areas in China are all over our country, North China and Northwest China are the dominant producing areas of Chinese pepper, and South China is the dominant producing area in winter. At present, the national pepper planting area is more than 2 million mu of Guizhou Province, Henan Province, Yunnan Province and other three provinces It has reached 5 million mu, with a larger area, more than 3 million mu in Henan Province and more than 2.5 million mu in Yunnan Province. Hunan, Hebei, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Hainan, Shandong, Anhui, Liaoning, Jilin, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other regions are also key areas for the production and consumption of pepper in China, with an area of more than 500,000 mu. Fujian Province, the least willing to eat green pepper planting area is also close to 100,000 mu.
(2) Scale of export trade
From a global perspective, the number of people in the world who like to eat spicy has exceeded 2.5 billion people, which can be seen that pepper is a very important position in the international vegetable crop trade. China has abundant pepper resources, and the export scale is the third largest vegetable crop after beans and tomatoes.
The export volume of Chinese pepper products also showed a fluctuating upward trend, and the overall export volume was at a large numerical level. In 2015, China's pepper exports were the lowest in recent years, only 204,200 tons, an increase of nearly 100,000 tons in 2018, the highest year-on-year growth rate in recent years, in 2018, China's total pepper exports exceeded 350,000 tons, reaching 310,700 tons, increasing from 204,200 tons in 2015 to 36.66 tons in 2022 Ten thousand tons, an average annual increase of about 9.25%; From 2018 to 2022, the number of China's pepper exports remained relatively stable, indicating that China's pepper exports have certain advantages in quantity. This is mainly due to the continuous development and optimization of China's pepper industry, as well as the continuous demand for Chinese pepper products in foreign markets. China's pepper export market has shown a steady growth trend and is expected to maintain its growth momentum in the next few years.
In 2015, the export amount of China's chili was the lowest in recent years, only 2,340.7 billion yuan, and $1,162,232,36 million in 2017, an increase of $321,104,500 compared with 2019, with a year-on-year growth rate of 38.17%. Although the amount of exports in 2021 has decreased, it still maintains a high value. However, by 2022, the total export value of China's chili reached a peak in nearly five years, and the export value of China's chili rose sharply, rising to 5,727.4 billion yuan. Compared with the above data of China's pepper export volume, it can be found that the fluctuation trend of China's pepper export amount and export volume is consistent from 2017 to 2022. This shows that the export price of Chinese chili has not fluctuated much in recent years. Overall, after a period of growth, the export scale of China's pepper has declined slightly under the impact of the epidemic in 2021. However, under the control of the government in 2022, growth has resumed, and in the post-epidemic era, economic recovery, consumer consumption level growth and economic development have brought about an increase in demand for chili.
